Human resources for forestry in Kazakhstan: Current status, potential and problems

Abstract The aim of this research is to assess the current status, potential and problems human resources for forestry in municipal state forest management institutions (MSFMIs) Kazakhstan. A total 120 MSFMIs are functional Kazakhstan, with almost 5.5 thousand employees, which 6.1% women. Overall 63% foresters, 13% masters wood, engineers all categories, 7% wardens 4% directors. quality education workers also varies a minority has higher education. scenario suggested that 3000 specialists had taken up advanced training courses from 2003 2019. According survey employees two pilot oblasts (Almaty East Kazakhstan), average age an employee 44.7 years 79.2% have work experience 15 years. main issues difficulties observed staff were low wages, lack modern technique equipment service, systematic continuing poor education, as well turnover, especially consequently affects their professional level.
